About This Event
We at Harbor House invite you to join us for โLight the Way,โ a vigil dedicated to ending domestic violence and its devastating impact on our community. Domestic abuse is often hidden in the shadows, affecting not only its immediate victims but also leaving lasting scars on families and communities. By coming together, we can raise awareness, support survivors, honor the victims and survivors, and shine a light on an issue that often remains hidden in the shadows.
During this event, we will:
- Remember the Victims:ย Honor those who have suffered in silence due to domestic abuse and reflect on the resilience of survivors.
- Raise Awareness:ย Understand the broader impact of domestic violence, which goes beyond the home and into every facet of our society.
- Share Stories:ย Hear from survivors and experts who will share insights and experiences, helping to unveil the hidden struggles faced by those living with domestic abuse.
- Light the Way:ย Come together as a community to bring domestic violence out of the shadows, ensuring that no one has to suffer in silence.
Candles will be provided for a candlelit walk symbolizing our collective commitment to supporting survivors and raising awareness. The walk will cover a short distance across the street from Klinkner Park to the Rural Outreach Office located at 107 S Side Shopping Center, Chilton, WI, where a reception with refreshments will be held. In case of inclement weather, the backup location will be the FVTC Chilton Campus.
Join us in making a difference and paving the way for a future where domestic violence is no longer hidden but confronted openly. Your presence at this vigil will send a powerful message of solidarity and hope.
